Merry After Christmas!

I survived!

At least I think I did! I had 16 people in my house for X-mas eve, but it went pretty well!~

The kids all had a good time!
They all made cookies to send home for Santa! and Joe and Lili helped make the Gingerbread house!

I Finally was able to give my sister Jodi her purse! My sister Lori made a Pie for dessert that was Awsome! Oh and Joe gave us a trumpet concert!

Just so you know there is no order to this blog, I swear someday I will organize all this and make it pretty!

The kids loved thier presents! Lili was a tad crabby! but since she had such a long weekend I dont blame her!

OH! and on the knitting side of things! I got some yarn from Adam! (Plus some fabric and buttons!) ALSO my NIRVANA dvd!!!!!!!!! I also got a gc to knit picks from my parents! Oh and some more yarn from my sister Lori! LOTS TO DO!

Above all, I finally got Steph's scarf done! I felted it in the washing machine, and it actually turned out! I had to go to the store and get a new skein cause I was 9 rows short! Yeap! 9 rows and I was not about to let it go! But now it's done and all is well!

I also gave my mom her minipeds and her stripey socks! She called this morning to tell me again how much she loves them!

So It's off to more knitting, I have many a birthday coming up and no time to waist!

Getting HIGH on yarn!

Sorry about the delay in days... Life has been a tad crazy!

I went to the yarn store the other day and got some new yarn! Oh and #2.75mm cause I lost one!


OH! Das Jeep starts! Just a little corosion! She's all better!

Oh and I have a DARE graduate! Joe graduated from DARE this week too!

It's been a little crazy so far! I have 4 days till xmas and just dont care anymore! If they get it they get it, if not.... they never knew it was coming anyhow! :)

Did I tell you how much I love Ravelry, Nirvana, The White Stripes, Yarn, and my Nikon! I dont think I would have gotten through my day without any of them! OH OH OH OH!
More cool news! I am upgrading my office machines to OS 10.5! So If I'm down awhile... It didn't go well!

How cool was my day yesterday! I got my yarn gift exchange from Canada!

ok, so yesterday I had a Cluster Headache which completly knocked me out, I wish I could explain it all but it didn't feel good! Anyhow, I left work early because Joe had his open rehersal for band. He played a solo so I was proud! (I played trumpet for 7 years and my dad played in hs too!) went home, got my yarn, and crashed!!!

I did get some pics of the projects I'm workin on Dad's socks, Steph's scarf
and jodi'sgift which I can't put up now (prying eyes),

but I will add a cool pic I took in the parking lot of
my shop....Can you say cold? the drips from cars are freezing!

ok, so I just put the new mirrors on the jeep! HISTORY: a few weeks ago, we got a jeep for the shop with a snow plow on it. It's a 1990 Jeep YJ, she has rock climber tires, suspension, and transmission! Oh and she's red! Anyhow, needless to say her former owners didn't love her as they should have so she needs a little work ie: rust, mirrors, no headlight lowbeams, no horn, etc. SHE GOT HER MIRRORS! both side and rearview which will make a difference, for she only had one on the driverside, and her rearview was a tad... you could say unusable.

She is what I have always wanted! I see her imperfections, but they only mean she needs a little extra love and I am willing to do that! At least she got a new windsheild just before she came home! I will be updating her progess as it goes!

As for knitting.... Jodi's gift is in a blocking process and should be done tonight/ tomorrow, finishing techniques so no worries! I went to start Dad's gift and came to realize I have no 6dpns! I have many others, but NO US6! GRRRRRR hopefully I will be able to get to get some this weekend! I have also found some not scary sock patterns that really excite me!

Last night was AWSOME!!!! Jodi's chirstmas gift is almost done! YEAH!!!!
I swear I will add more pics after x-mas, I fear of who reads this and sees what I've made and ruins thier surprise!

Most of all I have been having these horridly realistic dreams lately, It's driving me nuts! The worst part is It's people I haven't seen in a LONG time! I guess this is a good time of year to reflect on that past and remember those not in your life anymore for what ever reason. Kinda funny....

thats my motto anyhow! Today is Tuesday and last night was a way better yarn night. Although I didn't get much done I did have a better attitude towards my little friends! I even co a sock I had frogged and I dont think I'll be frogging again! Although I have been eyeing some new patterns and as of yet I have not followed a sock pattern so maybe I will give it a try! Who knows maybe I'll like it! AHHH!
I just found out that there will be a knit out at the Mall of America in Feb! I AM SOOO THERE! I can't wait! I think I'll go even by myself!

It's kinda a slow blog day, I dont have a whole lot to say and I am beside myself with design block! blah! what fun! I need to get back to my doings!

A sad little note

I learned today that one of our contractors lost one of thier shop dogs, A doberman.
They had two and I learned today that one pasted away a couple of months ago. Her puppy (ok not so puppy he was nearly 11) was a real sweatheart and would come and visit during deliveries. He'll be missed! So give your puppy a hug today!

The day keeps getting better!

So this weekend was a total bust! My knittng went ALL wrong (I nearly said NO MORE!) but as the addict I am I couldn't do it! I frogged all the socks I had on needles, and HOPEFULLY I'll get back into it! Blah! I did get my book done! I read Debbie Macombers A store on Blossom Street, and now I'm on to A good Yarn! I think I've read like 15 books in the last 3 months, more than I think I have in a long time! I picked up The Undomestic Goddess awhile back and kinda got hooked, so I read all the Sophie Kinsela books I could find (even one under her real name!) and I know there are more, but I dont want to buy the hard covers, so my next one will be out soon!

My friend "corny" (I had to pick on her today it's a long story) gave me Mary Krugers Died in the Wool and I liked that so I have read 3 other knitting/ murder mysteries who I can't remember the author, but they were fun and now I'm on to these D. Macomber books.

SEE! knitting has even gotten me back into reading and a new kind of book than I'd ever read (I used to read homer and shakepear for fun!) Anyway if ya get board check them out!

OK, so my knitting went wrong, I was home most of the weekend, but we did get out tree up, My daughter has yet to figure out that the ornaments aren't toys! I think the winter is actually bugging me now and it never has in the past! Who knows!

I did get Lili's cotton hat finished and at first she didn't want to even try it on, but when I put it on she wanted it and wore it all day! SOO cute running in her hat and pj's!

Well, enough of all that, I did get a comment from my secret santa about my yarn coming I AM SOOO excited and it's coming from Canada! (close to the island to which is REALLY exciting!)

I'll add this pic too, Peanut and her cat checkin out some early christmas presents from Grandma Riley! To think! that cat HATED her when we brought her home and now they are best buddies!

YEAH! what fun! the day is almost over and I can enjoy my weekend! It has been sightly unusual kind of week! I am very much looking forward to the weekend! I think we will be putting up the tree which will be curiously fun!!!!

Oh and the best part, I have atleast 3 packages coming to me! one from my yarn exchange group (SOOO excited!!!!) and 2 from both of my mother in laws! I LOVE packages! I dont get personal mail very often so it's a little extra fun for me! My whole family fights over who gets to open the box but I get at least one of them to myself this time!!!!!

I am not looking forward to this weekend's cold sprout... it's gonna FREEZE! but hopefully it wont effect my drive to Wisconsin (I went to HS there, and then left! that's a story for another time!). Well, I must get back, its actually pretty busy today! I'll try to get some cool pics this weekend!

Maybe i was a snowman in a former life...

I swear if it gets any colder I will turn into a ice cube.
The cold never bothered me until after I had my daughter, now.... I feel it, all over.
my joints ache even my skin is dry (never had that problem in the past). I swear!
My desk sits right next to a cinderblock wall (it's got sheetrock and all) but not very good insulation. IT'S COLD!!!!! I just want to curl up with my knitting and get warm by my yarn! I did get more of my sister's xmas gift done, more than 50% now! I can't wait til that is over! I'm having issues with stockenette waste land this year.... All i want to do is get done and make more socks!!!

We're supposed to get 5 inches of snow today so YEAH! oh yeah! the blog wont let me put up pics!

More snow!

Apparently we're getting more snow 2-5 inches! What fun! Maybe I'll come in late and plow again, that is more appealing to me than coming in at 5 am! (YUCK)

On the knitting side! I did get my Yarn yesterday am I am hoping to have it mailed out by Thursday! This is my first exchange so HOPEFULLY she'll like it!

Did I mention I designed this for the group? and the little one too! First time I've done that too! Well, I should check the weather reports! Hopefully it wont get too bad!

Can you beleive it's December?

So it's monday again and let me tell you IT IS COLD! it was 4 degress this morning! NOT FUN! BUT.. I did get to plow the lot this weekend with the jeep! That was a ton of fun! No really, I enjoyed it! I did get to do a little more this morning, we had a car that wasn't moved, so they moved it! and I got to plow some more!

So I did get my mom's xmas gift done! better update that on the list! Chistmas is coming and I fear I wont get it all done in time but I am doing my best to keep myself from freakin out!

OH! a funny story! I was watching the today show this morining and they had pics of Minnapolis on there and how we're in this HORRIBLE, DEVISTATING, DEBILITATING weather! AHHH noooo, it snowed on sat. thats it! Yeah we do have a ton of stupid drivers out there and some people died, (I feel for the families) but COME ON PEOPLE! it's minnesota! the roads get icey and you NEED to SLOW DOWN! People seem to forget that! I saw plenty of accedents and SOO NOT COOL! Any way... So the country is now seeing us as snowed in, but life is still going on here in the snowy MN! LIFE DOES GO ON!
