And then he turned 11...

I can't beleive the little man turns 11 today! I still remember our first birthday together he turned 5! (for those of you who dont know, I'm his second mom - But I AM mom! if you get my drift). Before I know it he is going to be out dating, and driving, and who knows what else, "boys will be boys!" Can't you put your kids in giant tuperware like on The Twilight Zone?

As for my knitting! I got a full sock done and 3/4 of the second! I did have to frog #2 of my mom's bday socks. I got down to the leg and realized I screwed up on the cuff! So Rippit! I am desperately awaiting my spindle. I believe it came on Sat. but THANKS TO THE MIGRAINE GODS.... I wasn't conscious enough to know it had come until it was to late! HOPEFULLY I will be picking it up today! I can't wait!

Well, It is Monday and so I will add a few pics from this weekend. We had one of my nephews over. Oh, and yes that is a pink girlie hat on Luke Skywalker, him and Darth Vader we going for a ride in a pink convertible! (gotta love a girls way of thinkin!)

I ordered more porn!

I officially ordered my first drop spindle today!!! I am so excited! I ordered it from Pancake and Lulu, and it was my first etsy order. I can't wait!

so Lili has been home sick all week. I don't know what she has but really it's a fever, but I can't send her to day care. Adam has been home with her except yesterday, I got to stay with her! I love to be with her, I wish I could be a stay at home mom, but that will never happen! Who knows, maybe someday!

Since I stayed home, I got nearly a whole sock done! It was awesome. After having the issues with my Tofutsie skein, and returning it... I was fearful of starting again!

Needless to say I did and I love it! I can't wait to finish them off and send them out! I'm done with one of my mom's cable clock socks, and I want to keep them! Alas, I have told her they are nearly done and so I can not!

I am so very excited for my spindle to come! I can't wait! Well, I'm drawing a blank....

Valentines Swap

I am hoping that I can get my swap partners Gifts ready by tonight and will be shipping by Wed! She lives across the "pond" So I want to make sure she gets it in time! I can't give too many hints on it..... hopefully it'll be out this week!

Being the boss is boring!

So the boss man left town this morning. I got all my work done (at least what I can do today) done by about 10:00am..... Now what? I'm sure I'll find other things to tinker with....
So in the mean time I am going to show of my SOMC yarn!

Sock of the month club!!!

I GET IT TODAY!!!
They called me last night and told me I can come and pick up my sock yarn/pattern today!
I am SOO excited! It's been an interesting week. I signed a 6month lease today and hopefully that will be the FINAL lease I have to sign with these people. Let's just say it's not the greatest apartment. The neighboor hood is great dont get me wrong... We go new landlords like oh about a year ago. They are really not doing much to keep the place up. I think it was a hole when they bought it and just dont have what it takes to update. Dont get me wrong. It hasn't been horrible. There have been some bad neighboors and what not but hey there are no rats or anything.

I am hoping to have a house and a yard for my kids to play in. (my own yard that is!) I WANT WINDCHIMES. Maybe it's because I'm not allowed, but I want some! I want to have a bbq in the winter without the fire department being called. (Yeap! My son's birthday a couple of years ago - he wanted a summer picnick in January.... so we bbq'd and some one in the building called the fire dept. because they said they smelled gas!? (it was a coal fire)). The school district cut a lot of things for the middle school kids (mainly sports and all afterschool activites), I love the district but I want my kids to have the same oportunities I did. I dont know what I would have done had it not been for sports and stuff. Needless to say I think it will be a good move, sad, but good.

On the needles:

I have finished the gusset of the first cable clock sock for my mother. I dont know why but they are taking FOREVER! I am using my MIL for my "keep me calm at work" I like to think of it as the "less stress project"! I really do need to be better at planning gifts for people! I think I will start in like JUNE for christmas this year!

Well... I'd love to write more and add some pics but I have had a couple of jobs come in that need to be done asap. I promise to add more pics tomorrow.... and tell about my tradgedy the other day!

Socks socks and more socks!

After working late last night (hostile take over of the company - by myself!) I got home, got the kids to bed and it was already 9:30! ugh! So I did a few more rows on dadRandy's gift which I forget to get a pic of, I decided to throw on the Jan Sock KAL sock for my socks anon. group on rav.

a 3k1p rib and my first toFutsie! I love these shortie needles I picked up at the ol' amazing threads! The fit right inside my hands!
My mom's socks are slowly coming along... kinda board with them right now and I'm not sure why!

I do have a cute story! So yesterday When it was time to leave, Lil was insistant on going to grandpa's! She wanted to go no where else! So being that I worked late and Adam and the kidlings had to pic me up, she got to go to the shop and see Grandpa! Anyhow, she also has been all about the jeep! "I wanna sit in Cherry (the jeeps is named cherry) go now! I sit in Cherry!" So we walk over to have a ride in Cherry who needless to say wasn't running the last and only time Lil has seen her, and Lil starts freakin out! Doens't want to sit in her, go for a ride let alone even let me open the door. So... she sat on the tractor instead, then "GO SEE GRANDPA!" we head over to the other bay where my dad and hubby are getting ready for the next day and Lil wants to "drive" grandpa's truck! Point of my story: She will NOT go in the jeep, but she'll go in a big ol' bucket truck that her 2yrs old head is well over mine as she sits in the seat and hangs on the wheel! CRAZY KID!

* Yeap another migraine today.... but not one can of Mountain Dew! (I have had some soda but only to keep the migraines at bay for most of the day - but i haven't boughten any!)

So I believe I may have to start an etsy shop soon... I have to look into it more. Like any other business taxes, and what not! I am getting a lot of requests for the weighted therapy blankets. I have to look at my costs and labor and all that kind of fun stuff!

Beyond that I have had migraines on and off everyday this year so far! Some better than others only one that has totally knocked me out completely! So we shall see! Hopefully it will go away soon! I have had to had 1 can of soda a day to helps keep them at bay but it's worth it! - I'm still loosing weight! Nearly a pound a day so far!

HOPEFULLY this year will be a kick ass year and things will start to go up instead of down!

Oh I co my FIL b-day gift and it's going well, I think he'll like it! I needed a break from socks! Not that I've actually finished anything but I think I need a little completion in my life right now so the smaller projects on big needles seem to help!

I should know more tomorrow about the etsy store.... Any advice?

Off to a good start

This year is getting off to a good start!
I finished Baby J's booties and mittens in 2 days.... (about 3 hours total). I got them off in the mail today so hopefully they will get them before she leaves the hospital.


OH! I survived my Migraine! I feel pretty good....
I am kicking Mountain Dew.... I am an addict, I admit I have a problem!

So.... I order to do so I joined the sock of the month club at Amazing Threads
I figure $18.00 a month takes up for most of my soda habbit! Not to mention WAY more fun!
** Did I mention I have lost 4 lbs since the 1st! **

Hello everybody! it's 2008!
wow! that's the first time I've typed that! kinda cool!
This is going to be a short post today.... I have a Migraine and although I'm not sure how I got here (my hubby drives us to work - but I was NOT here in the head), I am at work and want to sleep!

It's been a good year so far! I am a new cousin! My cousin C&M had thier baby girl! She was a couple weeks early but doing well. I knitted her some booties, and am working on some mittens for her so I'll send them out on Friday!

I will be posting lost more pictures and fun things this year!

The cable clock socks for my mom are going great! and the socks for my dad I have changed to for me!~

I have found that there isn't much stretch in the yarn so it'll be too tight for him so I will use some trekking that I have in a brown that will be much better!

I did get some more On Your Toes that the Goone picked out at the LYS! I LOVE knitting with the stuff, it goes really quick, but the brown I have just isn't very giving for strech. I think the other skein i got will be different, it's a little chunkier that the brown!

Anyhow, My eyes can not take anymore screen and I can't spell anymore either so Happy New Year to you all!
