My friend the soldier

I heard from Chris today. He is a Marine on his 3rd tour in Iraq. He is doing well, and I very much hope he comes home soon! He was a great friend in High school, but since he enlisted I haven't seen him very much, we try to hang out when he gets back home about once a year. He was out on his first tour when I got married (I wore a yellow ribbon for him that day). and went on his second tour not long after that. Now he has been there for a month... He is a dad, and husband, a son, a brother, and a friend to a lot of people. I dont watch the news when he is gone. I haven't since the first time he went out. I miss him being stationed around the country, but at least I know in California he is safe. But not now, not until he gets home. I can't even imagine how his wife and kids feel. I wish I could hug them all....

I know these guys are doing this for their country and I give the men and woman much credit to do what they do. But as for the gov. send bush and mr. "so?" out there for a year or two and see how they like it. Is there really a reason to all of this anymore? Bring our boys home - and before they come home in body bags. (another soldier in the army died from MN today, he was only 21.... what life was that? 21 and gone.......). I hate this freakin war.... is it really worth fighting for?

bring our guys home...

it's been a long time

I went home last night at actually fell asleep trying to get lili to sleep! Luckily we were laying in my bed so I was some what comfortable (hard to be really asleep with a wiggly 2 year old next to you!). I didn't knit at all last night. SCARY! I dont remember the last time that happened! My uncle asked me the other day how many days a week I knit..... I'd say maybe 8 sometimes 9 days a week!

I love yarn, fiber, needles, and the feeling of creating things! I think it's in my DNA, I know it is, have you met anyone in my dad's family! I think between all of us we can cover just about every aspect of the creative spectrum. every medium, there are a LOT of us!

I hope everyone had a good easter. We were at my dad's house which was great, he cooked easter dinner for the first time and did a REALLY good job! I was so proud! (my mom and sister and her kids spent easter in arkansas with my cousin and his family). So after a pretty laid back weekend it was back to work. Making signs, coming up with more ideas, and thinking of knitting in the back of my mind the whole time!

Someday I will own a yarn store!

Can you say Baaaa!

I must apoligize for taking so long to get things up and running! Things have been a bit crazy in life but I swear I'm working on that! I'm sure you can see I've changed a few things in the blog layout/look. This will be on going until I get my actual site up then no worries!

This is the kids playing with Playdough!

Lets see, lets see... OH! I've finally taken some pretty crappy pics of the the ol' stitchmarkers that I've made....

I also got Dad Rudd's Birthday gift (mom's too) off in the mail on Sunday. I love the 24/7 post office thingy! It's very much a handy thing! I started my Nirvana Smiles socks, and some that I wasn't so sure about my sister Jodi has claimed! Needless to say she gets the peacock socks!

I did start the Shoalwater Shawl, I'm like 57 rows into it and I'm loving it, HOWEVER, I started it in the wrong colorway and now I can't find any that match so I think I may have to mix some SM Gold and Novembre together, it's for me so what ever... Oh! I'm using my yummy yummy maligbrigo! By far my favorite so far! I dont have pics of it yet, which I have brought the camera home 3 times to do it and never do.... could be a good sign, could be a bad one, we shall see!

I'm still workin on the ol' list of things to do, it seems to get bigger and bigger every day! but what can I say!

So anyhow, I'm sure your all guessing about the Baaa! So here is the story.... My mom n dad Rudd are moving to a pretty secluded island off of northern Washington. They live on an island now called San Juan - but the other one - Stewart Island(?) - only has like 800 people that live on it. NEWAY they are going to be care taking on this island and will not only have pigs, chickens, but SHEEP! yeap you heard right! SHEEP! I nearly died when they told me! I want to live there, I'll live in a tent! I want to sit in the yarn with a spining wheel and watch the whales feed (killer whales that is). What a dream life! We are hoping to go out there this summer even with moving but we will see. I may never come home! Adam and I want to retire in that area, at least on one of the islands. Our dream home is on Orcas and is 1.3 Million.... I so need to win that lottery!

Anyhow, They are moving in May and have informed me that I am more than welcome to all the fleece I can handle (they have a barn full now and the sheep need to be sheared badly). I even told my mother in law that we'll sell it together and come up with a cool name! (they are known as the "Pirates" so I'm sure it'll have a priatey theme! I am VERY excited for them, and to be a tad bit selfish, I'm excited for me too! Hopefully it will all work out well!

Today is gonna be good!

So really for the first time in being out of school for 5 years I actually feel like I am worthy.
As far as I know I have nailed the biggest job I've ever bid on. All I know is the Corporate Offices in New York are impressed. I can't tell you how bad I needed this. Lets cross the needles and hope that it turns out as good as it sounds.
